| Imported from Germany and then Canada; Mason had 4 years of training with Dietrich Von Hapffgarden; performs all the Grand Prix movements; and had a very successful 2009 competitive season at Prix St. Georges with Jr/Yr owner and rider Danielle Price of Texas with scores through 67.895%!
Mason is a 16'1" hh; 16 year old; chestnut Hannoverian gelding. He is by the legendary stallion "Matcho"; and is out of the Hannoverian mare "Grandessa". Mason is branded Hannoverian.
Grand Prix rider and trainer Karin Lencyk of Rainbow's End Farm in Texas describes Mason as: "Totally stable with a great work ethic; a solid citizen; very personable and sweet; trustworthy; great at shows; an easy keeper with no health or soundness issues; clean legs and good feet."
In 2009, Danielle Price, aboard Mason and competing at Prix St. Georges, received 7's and 8's on their flying changes, walk and canter pirouettes, lateral work and tempis.
Danielle describes Mason (who's nickname is " Bubba"), as: "Such a pleasure to be around. He's such a puppy dog; so easy going; loves to socialize; and 'is such a gentle heart'". Danielle says that Bubba takes great care of, listens to, and is so conscious of his rider. "He's so sweet and not at all spooky or afraid of things like goats, tractors or dogs. Bubba's an easy traveler and is very well behaved at shows; he's just as relaxed in a random stall at any fairground as he is at home next to his girlfriend 'Angelique'. He also really shows a lot of love and affection for his 'person'".
Danielle emphasizes that Bubba responds beautifully to positive reinforcement; that he'll try so hard and go the extra mile for you if he's praised. "He's an exact reflection of the rider...of who you are and what you're doing. He'll do exactly what you tell him to do; if your aides for the movement are correct, than he'll be happy to do that movement for you. That's what makes him such a great teacher."
Mason is the perfect mount for a Jr/Yr or and Adult Amateur that aspires to compete or train through Grand Prix. He is a delight to work with and to be around; and is completely sound...mentally and physically.
